Create your own animated Lego mini film with Can Do Academy! ?? You will learn about the basics of film making, how to storyboard and different animation techniques. You will be able to create your own storyline and learn the do's and dont's of effective animation which you can apply at home. ? Construct and animate your own worlds in front of the camera! Each participant will receive a copy of their film at the end of the workshop by email. Ipads are supplied.

Join our Park Rangers for an educational workshop focussing on birds and how they cope with winter conditions. Special emphasis will be placed on our winter visiting birds and their habits. The half day programme will consist of an indoor presentation, followed by an outdoor guided walk around the gardens searching for, and identifying our winter birds.

Everyone has a smartphone these days but do you realise the power of the camera in your pocket? Learn how to frame up great photos with just your phone camera and tips and techniques used by professionals. We will use the techniques of street photography to really develop your eye and help you great photos by looking at things differently. This workshop will also include tips on free software you can use to make your photos even better and ways to safely share your photos online.

RADIO ULSTER GARDENERS' CORNER

BBC Radio Ulster’s Gardeners’ Corner is going on the road to TIDAL in Toome with Lough Neagh Partnership on Tuesday 15 October and you are invited to attend.

Presenter of the popular gardening show, David Maxwell, will host the special recording of the programme and, speaking ahead of the event, Gerry Darby, Strategic Manager at Lough Neagh Partnership, said: “Following the successful launch of the community allotment at Toome, we are privileged to be welcoming BBC Radio Ulster’s Gardeners’ Corner to Toome with TIDAL for the first time. We are looking forward to the lively chat about all things gardening between David, his experts and the guests attending this free event.”

David Maxwell, BBC Radio Ulster’s Gardeners’ Corner Presenter, said: “I’m really looking forward to this roadshow. Going on the road into local communities is always a lot of fun and it’s a chance for Gardeners’ Corner listeners to meet some of the experts face to face. Whether or not you consider yourself greenfingered, you’ll be guaranteed a very warm welcome and top notch gardening advice.”
