The bride by the way made her own Wedding Dress and she had come all the way from Leicester in England. The reason for such a large crowd is the Groom Robert Nesbitt was 52 still single and a writer, the two of them became penpals and the first time they saw each other was at the altar in the Church!

This wonderful shot captures the day the circus came to town in the summer of 1995. Taken in the Castle Grounds, are many members of Mrs Nixon's Dance Troupe, including June Neeson, Hazel Nixon, Marie Hemmings, Rachel Kingsberry and Doreen Hamill. The striking Pierrot clown is none other than Billy Nixon, and he is holding a very young Doris Fleming on the donkey. Holding the reins is Arthur Walsh and the notice on the hedge shows that
they were doing half-hour Concerts from 5pm. This field, with its perfectly preened high hedges, was the focal point for many events down the years - including the annual Antrim Show. That all changed, however, when the council decided to plant a par terre garden.
