This is Jacqueline Eide from the Dublin Road wearing her "granny boots" and hot pants beat the rest of the girls at the dance in Hall's Hotel to win the coveted "Miss Chimney Corner 1971" title.

ELEPHANT PATROL 1086
These Antrim girls will certainly not get done for speeding on the Seven Mile Straight in 1956. On the first elephant we have Elsie Cullen, then Nessa Boyd, Jean French, Anne Chipperfield and the other two ladies on elephants are unknown. They are out for a walk and under the watchful eye of the trainer Doreen walking along the road.

This excited group of young Brownies are getting ready for the start of the 1953 Empire Youth Day parade outside the Methodist Church on Church Street in Antrim. The flag bearer, the scout and the cub are unknown. But behind them and starting from the right we have Brown Owl Joy Fleming, Brown Owl Mrs.Carson whose family owned a fruit shop in the town, Miss McIlroy, Valerie Porteus, Eva Molloy, Vina Keith, M. Brown, Celia Kirkwood, Unknown, Unknown, Rachel Kingsberry and Unknown.

Here you can see the Scouts followed by the Girl Guides coming out of the old Methodist Church in Church Street in 1954. The Scout looking at the camera was Billy McMaster. The guide behind the leader Maura Coulter, then Sally Flemming, Nelly Hannon and Nancy Kearns, Fifth from the end of the row is Anna McCabe, also there is Ria Craig
In the back ground you can see some of the houses that were demolished to make way for the A6 bypass.
ENTERTAINERS 2579
It's summertime here in Antrim and we are at the back of the Antrim Arms Hotel in 1939.
These jolly chaps with their straw hats were the entertainers for the tourists that stayed in the hotel. They kept the tourists happy not only in the evenings but during the day, the reason for five was some would go on a sight seeing trip by bus while others would go on cruises on Lough Neagh while others just stayed at the hotel and they all had to be entertained. Sadly none of the lads names are known.
END OF A HARD DAY 1139
After a hard days work harvesting this family of three generations had time for a smile for the camera back in 1953.

EGG AND SPOON RACE 1023
This is not your usual Egg and Spoon Race that was taking place in 1960.
You might not think they are moving very fast but if you look at the man's tie and the girl's hair they are blowing in the wind.
Both are unknown but the girl is determined to win as she has her thumb on the egg!
EDENLEA HOUSE 1062
Posing outside the side door at Edenlea House at the Grange we have standing Margaret Nesbitt who the following year emigrated to New Zealand, James Nesbitt & Robert Nesbitt. Seated in the rocking chair is Grandpa James Nesbitt and Grandma Margaret Jane Nesbitt nee Burnside. The dog is not known and the year was 1913.
EDENVALE 1578
Standing in the doorway of his home in 1936 is Hugh Ireland and his faithfull dog. To the right of Hugh are two Hawthorn walking sticks for when taking the dog for a walk, but it looks like Hugh at the moment is doing a bit of baking.

This is Annie Neeson outside their house in 1934 with her faithful dog Rollo.
Apparently Annie had beautiful red curly hair.
